Royal Victoria Healthcare Centre MDRD Renovation
2018 - 2019
In 2017, all endoscopes in use at RVH were being cleaned and reprocessed in small satellite facilities, near the place of use and far from the centralized MDRD. These small, dedicated rooms combined reprocessing of soiled scopes with the storage of clean scopes, which is a severe IPAC concern. After coming to understand that these state of these facilities would prevent the hospital from reaching accreditation, RVH asked Diamond Schmitt to design and coordinate the construction of a centralized endoscope reprocessing suite adjacent to the existing MDRD.
Within 4 months, Diamond Schmitt was able to facilitate this goal through close communication with the client, engineering consultants and specialized hardware manufacturers.
