Royal Victoria Health Centre Master Plan

2017-2020

Within 20 years, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) has successfully created a large, campus of care for the residents of Barrie and surrounding communities at its north campus site. While the rapid growth of the campus has met the healthcare needs of these communities, future growth is still required in the southern region of Barrie. In addition, a realignment of its current campus facilities is required to optimize its delivery of healthcare services within limited operating budgets. This master plan was created by a multi-disciplinary team to create a 25-year master plan for to ensure that RVH’s growth rises to these challenges.

To meet these goals, the master planning project has been broken into four components-

  1. site location and land assessment for a future south campus;
  2. master programming/master planning for proper integration of North and South campuses;
  3. Quantity surveying and cost consulting; 4) pre-capital submission to the MOHLTC for the North Campus.
