  • 179,000 sf project addition to the existing 360-bed hospital 90 single-occupancy medical/surgical inpatient beds
  • 90 single-occupancy medical/surgical inpatient beds
  • Other services: new emergency department, diagnostic imaging department, ambulatory care clinics, including chronic disease management, renal dialysis and medical oncology &a day surgical suite
  • Project procured using a P3 (Public Private Partnership)

  • Design of facade and exterior spaces
  • Clinical planning - Med/srg IPU, Obstetrics, CCU, Day Surgery, Operative Services, MDR, Support Spaces
  • 3D model developer

The project requirements demanded a design that would complement the “Bermudian image” while achieving a world-class clinical facility.

Evidence-based design innovations include application include single bedrooms to enhance patient safety, incorporation of views to nature, colour and natural light, and sound reduction strategies.
